The North Gower wind farm project by German company Prowind has been disqualified by the Ontario Power Authority. Prowind will have an opportunity for a debriefing to improve any future submissions but there is no word on whether they would pursue this possibility.
Ottawa Wind Concerns was worried about the wind farm’s planned proximity to local schools. Spokesperson Jane Wilson said they felt it was going to be a “really inappropriate” power project.
Rideau-Goulbourn Councillor Scott Moffatt said another company could pick up the North Gower wind farm plans. He is not aware of any other company that’s planning to do so, but he’s still not ready to declare the controversial wind farm plans dead.
