North Grenville does not have a burn ban in place but fire services have elevated the fire risk level.
Fire Chief John Okum says the North Grenville Fire Services has been watching the weather conditions and have elevated the fire risk level from moderate to high. Okum says they are continuing to monitor weather and hope the predicted rain later this week will assist the area.
Okum says if a fire ban is put in place all existing permits will be put on hold, people would not be able to burn anything at all like recreation or open air.
Okum says there are road signs throughout the Municipality which provide the current risk level. Okum says the rain that is predicted might improve current conditions and they are taking it day by day.
More information about burning in North Grenville can be found on the Municipal website here.
