Thunderstorm Watch and Warning have been lifted

Update: The Watch and Warnings have been lifted.

Update: The Watch has been Upgraded to a Warning. Environment Canada says it’s tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, hail and heavy rain. That line of storms extends north of Belleville to Ottawa and is moving east as of just after 4:00pm today, according to the organization.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area.

They say conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Environment Canada adds strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. They are also reminding that severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes and heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Environment Canada is asking people to monitor alerts and forecasts issued.
