Generations Midwifery Care is getting support from the province. MPP Steve Clark announced $139,299 in additional funding for midwives in Leeds and Grenville yesterday. Generations Midwifery serves Brockville, Kemptville, Smiths Falls and surrounding areas.
Clark says the Ontario government understands that protecting what matters most means ensuring families in rural and small towns have more choices when it comes to delivering their babies. He noted the additional funding means more families in the riding will be able to access quality care from a midwife during pregnancy, labour and birth.
The local funding is part of a province-wide investment totalling $28 million more to expand midwifery services.
