New Counties Council to be sworn in December 10

Monday’s municipal election means there will be a new Counties Council in December. Sitting Warden Ron Holman, the incumbent mayor in the Township of Rideau Lakes, has been re-elected. There are newcomers representing Augusta, Edwardsburgh/Cardinal, Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Merrickville-Wolford and Westport. Returning to council are the members from Athens, Front of Yonge, Elizabethtown-Kitley and North Grenville. The incoming Leeds Grenville Counties Council will be sworn in at the inaugural meeting on Wednesday, December 10, when a new warden for Counties Council will be elected.
