Corporal Nathan Cirillo receives a full regimental funeral

Thousands lined the streets of Hamilton this afternoon to pay respects to Cpl. Nathan Cirillo.
The slain soldier was laid to rest after receiving accolades from the general public and Canada’s Highest offices.
His coffin, carried on a gun carriage to Christ’s Church Cathedral, was joined by members of his regiment, soldiers and police officers.
Rev. Canon Rob Fead called Cirillo “Canada’s son” and said the young soldier’s death helped bring the country together.
In a message to his regiment, the Queen too expressed sorrow at his death.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Cirillo died “protecting and preserving” human freedom.
