The weather station at the Kemptville Campus got a renewed lease on life. North Grenville Committee of the Whole recommended adopting a new agreement with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change to use the site.
The final vote is set for Tuesday.
The ministry will pay a token amount of $1 annually for the next 20 years.
CAO Brian Carré says the weather station may pre-date the University of Guelph. He says it’s a good fit for the campus, which focuses on education and training.
Carré says the opportunity to see Kemptville on a weather map twice daily could provide a boost to economic development.
