Clowning around for a cause

There was some funny business going on at Holy Cross Catholic School this morning. Principal Robert Hannigan and Vice Principal Matthew Hubbard dressed as clowns to greet students as they got off the buses.

The pair agreed to don the costumes if the students raised over $15,000 for Jump Rope for Heart. The school crushed that goal and may have hit the $20,000 mark.

Final numbers are being tallied today.

Hannigan says they got dressed up for the buses so all 541 students could see them put their money where their mouths are.

If $20,000 is surpassed, the entire school will be treated to a popcorn and movie party.
