Local advocates for new sign to keep loading zone clear at library

Justin Bartlett was having trouble with parking at the North Grenville Public Library. The 23-year-old uses a wheelchair and needs to use the loading zone spot on Water Street to get in and out of his van.

Bylaw Officer Josee Lizotte says every time he would come to the library and try to park, he couldn’t unload his wheelchair because there was always someone parked in the loading zone.

Bartlett reached out to Lizotte three weeks ago and asked that something be done. Lizotte ordered a new Loading Zone sign to put up to deter people from using it as a parking space.

The new sign was installed today, with Bartlett present. He says he comes to the library at least once a week to read up about hockey.

Lizotte asks the community to please keep the loading zone clear for people like Justin who want to visit the library.
