The world needs a hero and although there were many heroes in Ottawa on Wednesday, October 22nd, giving CPR to a stranger, ushering crowds to safety and running toward danger instead of away from it, one stands above the crowd and that is Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers. Vickers was the man who engaged the lone gunman in the Grand Hall of Centre Block and eventually took him down before he could do any more damage. Some are suggesting he be honoured in some way. Others are suggesting a fund be set up to help with expenses for the young son of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, who lost his life at the National War Memorial.
