The fifth annual Shop Local Showcase returns to Kemptville. The free event is set for April 27 at the North Grenville Municipal Centre from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Around 80 local vendors will be on site giving a variety of demonstrations.

The event also includes a kids’ zone with a colouring contest to win a free week at camp this summer.

Organizer Anne Kotlarchuk says the event has grown a lot in the last 5 years. Around 500 people attended the first year and last year was a record breaker with 2,291 coming through the doors.

The South Nation Conservation Authority provided 500 free trees to be handed out to the first 500 visitors. This year’s grand prize for visiting all the vendors is a Nest smart home package worth $1,000.

A new addition to the showcase is a partnership between similar shows in Winchester and Morrisburg on the same day. Visitors who pick up a passport from O’Farrell Financial Services and get the passport stamped from all 3 events could win a flat screen TV, sound bar and VIP tickets to the Ottawa Senators.

Kotlarchuk says the new feature is for people who are looking to make a road trip of it and all three events are free admission.
