Police say only one gunman in Ottawa shootings; vigil being held at War Memorial.

MPS will sit in the House of Commons as usual today, despite the deadly shooting that shook the nation on Wednesday. Parliament Hill will remain closed. Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Canada will not be intimidated. Harper adds the attack is a reminder that Canada is not immune to the terror attacks we see across the world.

Michael Zehaf-Bibeau has been identified as the gunman in the Parliament Hill shooting and also at the National War Memorial. Police confirmed Thursday morning they believe there was only one gunman. Zehaf-Bibeau had a criminal record for drug possession and robbery. He was raised just north of Montreal. Once on the Hill he was shot and killed by the Sergeant at Arms Kevin Vickers.

People across the nation are mourning the loss of Canadian soldier Corporal Nathan Cirillo. The 24-year-old reservist from Hamilton was shot and killed at the National War Memorial by Zehaf-Bibeau. Cirillo was a dad, a dog lover, and a proud Canadian who dreamed of being a full time soldier. A vigil is being held Thursday, Oct. 23rd at the National War Memorial in honour of the fallen reservist.
