Environment Canada has now issued a Rainfall Warning

Update: Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning in addition to the Freezing Rain Warning. The organization says we could see between 25 and 40mm of rain by this evening when the rain is expected to change to snow. We could also see 2 to 4cm of snow.

There’s a freezing rain warning in effect for the region.

Environment Canada says to expect freezing rain tomorrow (Saturday) for several hours before it changes to rain in the afternoon. The organization says it’s due to a low pressure system that will track over Southern and South-Eastern Ontario tomorrow. Environment Canada does say there’s considerable uncertainty in the exact track of the system which could affect the type of weather we see.

Environment Canada says that if we do see the freezing rain, surfaces such as highways, roads and walkways as well as parking lots will become icy and slippery.
