The Council of Canadians National Chairperson Maude Barlow will be in town tonight to speak about the proposed TransCanada pipeline project. Barlow is the recipient of eleven honorary doctorates as well as many awards worldwide. In 2008/2009, she served as Senior Advisor on Water to the 63rd President of the United Nations General Assembly and was a leader in the campaign to have water recognized as a human right by the UN. She is also the author of dozens of reports, as well as 17 books. This afternoon she will be live on STAR 975 at 4:20pm and this evening the public is invited to a free presentation – Energy East: Our Risk; Their Reward – at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
