Local Girl Guides Hosts Fundraising Dinner and Talent Show

The Oxford Mills Sisterhood of Guides (OMSG) is raising money for their year end trip with a dinner and talent show.

The event takes place at St. John’s United Church on March 30 with two dinner seatings at 5pm and 7pm. Buying a ticket will get you a full dinner including a salad, a main entrée, and dessert. The dinner offers vegetarian alternatives as well. The event is to give the girl guides an opportunity to learn serving and event planning skills. After the dinner the OMSG will be putting on a talent show from all the different sisterhoods ranging from the Sparks to the Rangers. Previous events with the OMSG have been incredibly successful with sold out seating.

Oxford Mills Guider Mary-Anne Leang says the funds from the event go towards the OMSG end of year trip to Toronto where they plan on staying overnight at the Toronto Zoo and visiting the
Casa Loma Mansion which has a history with the guides. Leang says the trip is planned from the beginning of the year as a part of their core programming. The girls look forward to it and can earn 5 or 6 badges to complete their program.

Tickets for the dinner and show cost $15 for adults and $10 for kids under 10 with limited seating available. Reserve your tickets by emailing [email protected], or by phone at 613-613-1848.
