The Spencerville and Area TNR Stray Cat Project have partnered with Kemptville Pet Valu.
Project Founder Cindy Cere says whenever they have friendly cats or kittens they will be bringing them to the store to put up for adoption. Cere says most of the cats that they deal with are put back outside because they’re feral, but they do have several cats or kittens that they are able to rehabilitate. Cere says the partnership has been running for a couple weeks now.
Cere adds they often spend between five to seven thousand dollars a month on trapping-neuter-release and none of the money comes back to the project. Cere says that means the 10-percent of the cats that are put up for adoption is money greatly needed.
Cere says they are in need of non-clumping, non-scented cat litter and kitten food. Donations can be dropped off at the Kemptville Pet Valu. Cere also says starting now they will be adding microchips to any cats they get sterilized. The price of adoption will increase by $25 once they’re micro-chipped.
There is an adoption event happening this Saturday at the Kemptville store. Cere says they will have lots of cats and kittens under a year old available for adoption. The event will run from 10 to three and adopting a cat costs $175 and a kitten is $200 at the event.
