100 Kids Who Care asks council to use municipal centre for free

A local group put forward a request to use the municipal centre for free. Members of 100 Kids Who Care North Grenville presented to council during a special budget meeting on Wednesday. The group is seeking to host its meetings at the facility.

Oscar Roberts says the group donates to charities and non-profit groups. He says each kid brings $10 of their own money to donate.

The first meeting of 100 Kids Who Care brought in $260 for local charities, including Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville. The next meeting is set for February 28.

Roberts says three people make presentations about different charities and everyone votes on who will get the money.

The ask represents about $100 per year for use of the space.

The group is open to all kids between the ages of 6 and 16. For more information about 100 Kids Who Care, click here.
