Kemptville Panthers win Silver Stick Championship

The Kemptville Panthers Atom B team won the International Silver Stick Championship. The tournament was held in Pelham over the weekend.

Coach Rob Kennedy says the Panthers beat out San Jose in the finals. He says the team won 11-2.

The Panthers took home a banner and trophy. The players were all presented medals and Silver Stick pins.

There are 15 players on the team, ages 9 and 10.

This is the first time, dating back to 1976, that a Kemptville Atom team has won the championship. A Kemptville Girls Midget team was named Silver Stick Champs in 2006-2007 and a Kemptville Boys Bantam team won in 1998-1999.
