With the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend approaching, many people will head out on their all-terrain vehicles to enjoy the last long weekend of the year. The O.P.P would like to encourage operators to drive safely and responsibly. ATV operators should remember: drivers must hold a valid G2 or greater drivers licence; all riders must wear an approved helmet and most ATVs are meant to be used by a single driver, so no passengers. Always drive sober and don’t head out into the woods on your own. ATVs are powerful motorized vehicles and youth should not be permitted to operate them as they don’t have the knowledge, strength, judgment or experience to be able to operate them safely.
