The Highway 43 Car Club is getting into the Christmas spirit. The local club donated money to four local food banks today. The House of Lazarus, Salvation Army, Community Food Share and Kanata Food Cupboard each got $500. The cheque presentation was held at the Kemptville Fire Hall.

Club President Rod Rafter says food banks are the roots of the community. He says the club looks at the organizations as its people.

The club has also brought in thousands of pounds of food for the food banks this year.

Rafter says the club puts on events to bring in donations. He says there are three main events each year: All GM Show in Kanata, Father’s Day Show and Shine in Kemptville and BMR Winchester Show.
