The Grenville County OPP is hosting a Christmas Charity Barbecue in support of the Salvation Army. The barbecue is sponsored by Royal LePage and all proceeds will go towards the Kettle Campaign.

The event is set for Thursday from 11:30am to 1:00pm. It is being held at the Kemptville Detachment.

Constable Ann Collins says it’s a two prong attack. She says the more people are supported in the community, the less the OPP will be involved in their lives in another way.

Unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items and monetary donations will be collected at the barbecue. The cost is $5 for a hamburger, hot dog and drink.

Const. Collins says it’s important to support the Salvation Army. She says the organization is in the forefront of helping people get out of poverty.
