An update about what will happen with the hole in the wall at the North Grenville Municipal Centre was provided to council. Director of Parks and Recreation Mark Guy relayed the information last night. The damage was caused when a person drove into the building on October 19.
Frank Cowan, the municipality’s insurance company, was contacted about the damage. Belfor Property Restoration out of Brockville closed the hole with plywood and has since been back to assess the damage.
Guy says there is no structural damage to the building and the repairs are fairly straightforward.
Belfor wants to subcontract the repairs out to a company that specializes in steel work.
When asked whether it would be the municipality’s insurance or the driver’s on the hook for the bill, Guy says it’s too early to tell at this point.
