Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark says a tax credit for farmers who donate produce to food banks is a major step forward in fighting hunger. The tax credit is worth 25% of the wholesale value of excess produce agricultural producers donate to their local food bank. It was created through an Ontario PC amendment to the Local Food Act and based on a private member’s bill first introduced in 2010. Clark says food banks in Leeds-Grenville are doing great work to meet the needs in our community and he encourages everyone to give what they can to help these important local food drives meet and surpass their goals.
