Local Bylaw Officer honoured for 25 years of service

James Petersen was recognized for his years of service. The local Bylaw Officer was presented an award marking 25 years in the role. The ceremony was held Monday night during the regular council meeting.

Petersen says bylaw enforcement is something he fell into while working at Algonquin College doing parking enforcement. He was hired on by the City of Nepean, where he worked for a few years before making the move to North Grenville. He has served the community for the past 19 years.

Petersen says his award is already hanging up in his office and the medal has been pinned to his uniform.

The award came from the Municipal Law Enforcement Officers’ Association of Ontario, which represents 1,800 enforcement officers across the province.
