Fourth annual Ride for Robin aims to raise $20,000

The Ride for Robin is coming to Kemptville. The fourth annual charity motorcycle ride is set for September 15. All money raised goes to The Wings of Phoenix Association, which supports veterans and civilians with brain injuries.

The ride is named in honour of Sgt. Robin Easey, who was shot in the back of the head while responding to an armed robbery at the Bayshore Shopping Centre in 1984.

The Ride for Robin starts at the W.O Stinson and Son Ltd. Head Office on Bank Street in Ottawa. Registration is set for 9:00am and the ride kicks off at 10:00am.

The Ride for Robin will pass through Kemptville around 12:00 noon on the way to Richmond – Easy’s hometown.

Organizer Suzanne Kingsley says the Ride for Robin has brought in $16,000 so far this year and the goal is to hit the $20,000 mark. She says this year’s ride is special because Easy just turned 65 and is officially retiring.
