The Lefebvre Family has been on the road for 88 days. Jimmy Lefebvre, along with his wife Kristie, twin sons Kayden and Kallyn, daughter Dylan and mother Rita are travelling 5,716 kimolemeters on foot. The purpose of the journey is to raise money for cancer education programs and initiatives. They made a stop in Kemptville, after spending the night in Merrickville, this morning. Jimmy says losing his dad, who was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer in 2015, inspired him to do something.
The Lefebvre family started the Can-Survive Walk in their hometown of Grand Prairie, Alberta on May 1. The walk will end in Prince Edward Island on August 31. They have raised $26,238 so far. Jimmy says the money will make a difference in people’s lives.
The family is heading to Ottawa and then onto Quebec and New Brunswick. For more information about the walk or to donate, click here.
