The Kemptville District Hospital Diabetes Education Program will welcome guest speaker Dr. Shelly Stack. The presentation is set for Thursday, beginning at 7:00pm. Stack will be talking about Diabetes and Oral Health.
She will explain how oral health and diabetes control go hand in hand. Mismanaged blood sugar levels can lead to severe toothaches, dry mouth, periodontal disease and other dental issues. Stack will talk about appropriate dental care for people with diabetes and how to prevent dental problems.
Stack got her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario in London. She practices at Yazdani Family Dentistry in Kemptville and Kanata.
