Southgate Community Church in Kemptville is running a free Sports Camp for kids. This is the seventh year the church has run the camp, which attracts over 150 kids annually. The camp is open to kids in grades one through six. Kids can choose from cheerleading, road hockey, basketball and soccer. Organizer Lindsay Shepherd says the camp takes a village.
The camp runs from August 19 to 23, beginning at 6:00pm and ending at 8:00pm. Each kid is put on a team for the week and provided a team shirt, along with snacks. Shepherd says the camp is structured.
The camp is open to kids with special needs. Shepherd says the church does its best to accommodate everyone and can bring in experienced volunteers. To register for the camp or for more information, click here.Â
