The grade 12 students at North Grenville District High School are moving on. The graduation ceremony was held this morning. A total of 131 students graduated and 36 got Silver Pins, which means eight consecutive semesters with a 75 per cent average or higher.

Principal Derek Cole says with their many talents, the students are uniquely positioned to face the challenges of tomorrow.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark says volunteering is important.

Upper Canada District School Board Trustee Lisa Swan quoted Howard Thurman: ‘Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.’

North Grenville Mayor David Gordon says the students need to make a difference.

Merrickville-Wolford Mayor David Nash challenged the students to stand up for what is right and make good choices when it comes to drugs.
