Salvation Army needs help restocking food bank shelves

Got extra items kicking around your cupboards? The Kemptville Salvation Army is reaching out to the community for help to restock its food bank shelves. Director Calvin Wong says the need continues to grow.

Between 60 and 70 families access the food bank each month. The food bank is open to people who need it every week. Wong says variety is way down.

The food bank is looking for donations of tea and coffee, sugar, muffin mixes, cooking oil, peanut butter, laundry detergent, shampoo, bars of soap and diapers. For a full list of needs, contact the Salvation Army directly by calling 613-258-3583. Donations can be dropped off at Walmart, B&H Grocer, Food Basics and the Salvation Army.
