One group and two individuals were recognized for their work in the community during the 2018 Civic Awards ceremony. The event was held last night during the council meeting. Deputy Mayor Barb Tobin emceed the ceremony. The first person recognized was Samantha Rivet-Stevenson, who got an award for Exemplary Work in the Community. Tobin says she is committed to helping others.
The Highway 43 Car Club was next to be recognized for Exemplary Work in the Community. Tobin says the club helps out local food banks.
North Grenville Mayor David Gordon selected Jim Dolan for the Mayor’s Commendation Award this year. Gordon says Dolan’s work organizing a local bonspiel has done wonders for the community.
Rivet-Stevenson and the Highway 43 Car Club were presented framed certificates. Dolan was presented a commemorative clock and certificate. Â
