North Grenville Accessible Transportation (NGAT) won’t have to worry about gas money this month. Brewed Awakenings raised $305 for the organization through its monthly heart-shaped cookie fundraiser. Owner Kika Smith says it all started back in February 2016 with Habitat for Humanity.
The local coffee shop picks a different charity each month and offers up cookies by donation to raise money. Smith says the first fundraiser was so successful she decided to keep it going.
This is the second time Brewed Awakenings has raised money for NGAT. The donation is enough to cover gas money for the organization for an entire month. NGAT has to fundraise between $8,000 and $10,000 each year.
