Leave your bagged lunch at home! McHappy Day is this Wednesday at McDonald restaurants across the region. Tim Carter – owner of the McDonald franchises in Kemptville, Smiths Falls, Perth and Carleton Place – has set a goal of $30,000 this year.
One dollar from every Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe hot beverage will go towards the Ronald McDonald House in Ottawa. Carter says its important to support the charity.
Families from outside of Ottawa can stay at the Ronald McDonald House while their sick kid is at CHEO for just $10 a night. Each year, over 500 families are helped by the Ronald McDonald House. Last year, Carter’s restaurants brought in $28,500 through McHappy Day. The Kemptville locations alone bring in between $6,000 and $8,000. Carter says every dollar counts on McHappy Day.
McHappy Day runs throughout the day on May 2. For more information about McHappy Day, visit mcdonalds.com.
