Come eat pancakes in celebration of Community Living month

May is Community Living month across the province. This Wednesday, Community Living North Grenville (CLNG) is hosting their annual pancake breakfast. The event promotes awareness and inclusion for those with intellectual disabilities. Sandra McNamara, CLNG executive director, says the community comes together to help with the breakfast.

The breakfast kicks off at 8 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. with a ceremonial flag raising. The municipality will fly the CLNG flag throughout the month. McNamara says Community Living Ontario has run a ‘Shine a Light on Community Living’ campaign for the past three years.

The CLNG building, located on County Road 43, will be lit up with blue and green lights throughout May. CLNG currently serves 110 local people. The breakfast is being held at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. The cost is $5 per person.
