The community of North Grenville will come out to pay their respects to the late Dr. George C. Fisher today. Dr. Fisher was a longtime employee of Kemptville College as a veterinarian. He gave selflessly of his time and energy to help others, raising over $1 million for the building of the new North Grenville Public Library, acting as Ambassador for the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation and as a lifelong member of the Rotary Club. Dr. Fisher’s service is memorialized outside the library, in a statue where he is depicted dancing with his wife Norma. He passed away last week at the age of 97. His life will be celebrated today from 1 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm at McGarry Chapel on Prescott Street
