Three healthcare workers are being honoured for their calm, committed and comforting manner.
These three C’s are being used to describe the latest batch of Winchester District Memorial Hospital Commitment Award Winners. This year the recipients are Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Shamsa Deeb, Executive Assistant to the CEO Chris Barkley and hospital volunteer Faye McCurdy.
Deeb’s nominator said they were amazed by her leadership and calm nature, adding that she stays on call for long hours to ensure she is available for deliveries. Barkley was nominated for always having the hospital’s best interests at heart and McCurdy has toned back her volunteering but still knits chemo caps for patients in the hospital’s chemotherapy department.
According to WDMH the Commitment Award acknowledges compassion, excellence, respect, accountability, learning, innovation and a team attitude.
