Leeds Grenville MPP Steve Clark led MPP Jim Wilson, Interim Leader of the Ontario PC Party, on a tour of Kemptville Campus on Tuesday. In an interview with STAR 975 after the tour, Wilson said he was surprised to learn the college has a thriving enrolment with a functioning infrastructure. He said he had been led to believe the buildings were in desperate need of upgrades when in fact the facilities are fully operational with high-tech equipment and amenities.
Wilson said he learned quite a bit on the two-hour tour about the various government tenants on campus, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and Service Ontario. Wilson agreed with Clark when he said the Kemptville College Renewal Task Force needs the financial information from the University of Guelph and the Ontario government in order to move forward with a business plan.
