Manotick man charged for dredging St. Lawrence shoreline

A Manotick man has been fined $2,500 for illegally dredging the shore along the St. Lawrence River. On June 18th of last year a conservation officer on marine patrol noticed heavy equipment removing gravel and rock from land along the shore in the Thousand Islands. The landowner was attempting to modify a boathouse, and the work was happening below the high water mark. The officer determined that the work was being done without a permit. William R.
