The Winchester District Memorial Hospital Foundation is $15,000 richer thanks to North Stormont.
The Township presented the gift late last month towards the foundation’s General Equipment Fund.
The foundation says the money will be used to help purchase new automated dispensing cabinets for medication. The foundation says delivering 15,000 medications to patients each year is a complex task. The new equipment will ensure the right drug or drugs are dispensed to the right patient at the right time. The foundation says it simplifies the process and increases patient safety.
North Stormont’s Mayor Dennis Fife says many residents from his township rely on the hospital to provide primary and emergency care. Fife says council is proud to be a supporter of the hospital and says it continues to provide excellent healthcare services.
