Local firefighters have raised more than $5,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
North Grenville Fire Service set-up three locations for the boot drive in Kemptville on Friday night to raise the funds.
Volunteer firefighter James Petersen says the connection to Muscular Dystrophy Canada has been in place for a long time.
Petersen says they get a number of firefighters involved in the boot drive.
Firefighters spent two hours taking in donations for the organization. In 2015, Petersen says they managed nearly $10,000 in donations in North Grenville. He says that was a new record for the yearly fundraiser.
