A special presentation of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers has been handed out to a local resident.
North Grenville Mayor David Gordon made the presentation to Doug Brunton at Monday’s council meeting.
Gordon named off some of the organizations that Brunton has helped during the presentation.
Gordon says Brunton has also helped improve the lives and promote the memory of veterans through the Royal Canadian Legion and the NATO Veterans Organization of Canada.
Brunton spoke and thanked a special group of people in the crowd during the presentation.
The Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers recognizes the exceptional volunteer achievements of Canadians from across the country in a wide range of fields.
