Changing the world, one period at a time: Femme International

In many parts of the world, girls and women miss out on school and work for several days every month, due to something that is common to women the world over. Oxford Mills native Sabrina Rubli is one of the founders of Femme International – providing feminine hygiene supplies – and female health education – to Kenyan schoolgirls.

Rubli and her team work to educate young women but they also leave behind a care package of sustainable hygiene products so the girls can take care of themselves without having to miss out on school. Rubli says they are having great results with their work so far, educating and empowering women. She hopes the work will also help to one day erase the stigma around feminine hygiene in these cultures.
