Environment Canada says there’s the potential for local flooding.
Environment Canada is issuing the special weather statement saying we’ll see significant rainfall beginning tonight and persisting into the weekend. Because the ground is already saturated, that could cause local flooding in some areas.
The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority also said earlier this week that there’s the chance of some flooding from the Rideau River with rising water levels. Some low lying areas and access roads between Kemptville and Kars could be affected.
Flooding has also been occurring for some communities along the Ottawa River.
