North Grenville man charged with impaired operation of ATV

A North Grenville man is facing multiple charges after an impaired driving incident on the weekend. On Saturday, police received a report of a possible impaired ATV driver. The all-terrain vehicle was found heading towards County Road 44 from County Road 20 in North Grenville. The ATV turned into a ditch and stopped in a residential backyard. The driver appeared drunk and was arrested for impaired driving. While being searched, brass knuckles were found on the suspect and seized. He was taken to Prescott OPP detachment for a breathalyzer test. 38-year-old Scott James Lawrence of North Grenville was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, occupying a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited weapon, impaired driving, failure or refusal to provide a sample and driving while under suspension.
