The Kemptville Wildcat All-Star Seniors (15/16 year olds) won their district playdown to go into the provincial championships in Oakville this past week. After winning 3 of its 4 round robin qualifying games by 20-2, 23-2 and 13-0 over the Mississippi Sox, Oakville and South Ottawa Blues, respectively, the Wildcats continued to roar in their semi-final game against the Ottawa Blues winning 16-3. This put them head to head against East Nepean in the provincial championship game. After a scoreless first 4 innings by the two well-matched teams, East Nepean scored 4 runs in the 5th inning and the Wildcats could not catch up, with a final score of 4-0 for East Nepean, leaving the Kemptville Wildcats in 2nd place for the province.
