MPP Clark works to eliminate water testing costs for service clubs

Responding to concerns raised by several non-profit organizations in the riding, Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark has re-introduced a motion to eliminate the cost of having their water tested by private laboratories under provincial regulations. In a press release issued Thursday, Clark said Legion branches, churches, service clubs and other organizations are spending hundreds of dollars every year to have their water tested. That money, he says, would be much better spent supporting the communities they serve. The motion calls on the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care to investigate options to remove these costs from non-profits, including having the tests done by the local public health laboratory.
