North Grenville’s Committee of the Whole tackled death registrations as their last official item of business on the agenda.
North Grenville has been providing registration services to Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Funeral Home in Kemptville for many years, as well as their other locations since 2014. The service has provided extra income to the municipality but, according to staff, the amount of registrations has become overwhelming for the Deputy Clerk/Communications Coordinator.
With communications a key part of that role, staff felt it was important to revert back to registering deaths for the Kemptville funeral home location only.
Council will vote on the recommendation in the new year.
