Dan Gordon has been named the Firefighter of the Year at the North Grenville Fire Service Awards and Appreciation Banquet. Gordon has been with the fire service for 41 years and is also retiring from the fire service. Gordon started with the fire service back in 1975 and officials say he always put other people’s needs before his own.
The Fire Officer Award was also presented. Deputy Chief Randy Urslak was given the honour at the event.
Years of Service and Crew awards were also doled out.
The event was held Saturday at the Municipal Centre.
