With snow now blanketing the area, the Ontario Provincial Police have sent out a list of safe winter driving tips to ensure everyone on the roads arrives safely.
Police recommend learning and practicing safe winter driving techniques before you need them, giving yourself extra travel times wherever you’re headed, and reducing speed particularly in slick and snowy conditions.
Within the first 20 hours when snow started falling on Sunday afternoon, OPP had responded to 15 collisions on area roadways.
