Oxford-on-Rideau Public School parents plan two presentations at tonight’s ARC meeting

Parents from Oxford-on-Rideau Public School will have two presentations at tonight’s Accommodation Review Committee meeting.

The Upper Canada District School Board says it’s looking for input regarding the potential school closures. The meeting is at South Grenville District High School starting at 6:30pm.

The committee will hear presentations and then compile the feedback to pass it along for a final presentation to the UCDSB Board of Trustees in February.

Meanwhile, a former member of the committee, Michelle Taylor, recently resigned. Taylor called the process deeply flawed. Taylor said in a Facebook post that she could no longer, quote “compile and water-down heart-felt feedback into a report that may or may not even be taken seriously by the school board”. Taylor said it would not save schools and suggested other members resign as well.

Both Oxford-on-Rideau Public School and Wolford Public School are slated for possible closure.
